Articles: Barry Jenkins in Times Mag

My love for Barry Jenkins runs deep. He is one of those directors that speaks directly to me. I’ve watched “Medicine for Melancholy” at least twice a year, every year, since I discovered the film on Itunes when I was looking for a film to watch on a flight. I think it was around 2012. Then there’s “Moonlight”, do I really need to expound? The way he uses silence in his films draws you in and just holds you. That is one of the reasons I can’t wait for “If Beale Street Could Talk”. My love for James Baldwin… I don’t even have the words. His books… “If Beale Street Could Talk” was one of the first books of his I read. Giovanni’s Room is my favorite.

Yesterday’s New York TImes Magazine profiles Barry Jenkins and his new film. I cannot wait for November 30th. Oh and the most important part and the reason I wanted to share this in the first place… he was photographed by the amazing Michalene Thomas. Too much awesomenss in one article.
